You will hear many Christians say that God blesses those who bless Israel, and curses those that curse Israel. They say that one dare not curse Israel. But is that correct? Is that biblical?
Let’s examine the scriptures:
In Genesis 12:3, God states, speaking to Abram (Abraham): And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Notice that the scripture says, “thee”. Thee is the singular form of the word you. God was talking to Abraham (his name was Abram at the time), not the nation of Israel. Further, God says, “in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”, not just Israel.
Further, in Genesis 12:7, we find this promise made: And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
Who is the seed of Abraham?
Go to Galatians 3:16.
The Apostle Paul writes, “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”
The promises were made to Abraham and his descendant Christ Jesus!
Let’s take a look at Galatians 3:28-29.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Abraham’s seed, by inheritance, is the born-again Christians who are trusting in Jesus alone for eternal life!
One more stop: 1 John 5:12
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
If you don’t have the Son, you don’t have the Father. The truth is that the “Jews” living in Palestine (and worldwide) don’t have the Father, because they deny Jesus Christ. This is not to say they CAN’T have the Father, all they need do is believe on Jesus, as John 3:16 says. God is not willing that ANY should perish, but have everlasting life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
There’s much more that could be said on this topic, but I’ll leave it for another post.
